In the interests of fairness: this review is for a cottage that was booked for a few days in Hay during the Hay Festival, so all accommodation prices were astronomical. The cottage is lovely, and (given the kitchen facilities are good), there's nowhere to sit and eat indoors (there's seating, but no table at a good height). Huge, comfy beds. The cottage is perfectly set in town, parking is quite difficult in Hay, it was very tasteful in its decor. We found the stairs a bit challenging as we are in our 70s they were high, and painted which made them a bit slippy for us. The only toilet was downstairs so getting up in the night was challenging but for younger people wouldnt be a problem.Read more But. It was very comfortable in all other aspects Hide

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chancery Lane. The location was ideal for exploring Hay on Wye - able to walk to everywhere as its in the heart of the town. The cottage itself was a gem incredibly cosy and beautifully appointed.

We had a lovely stay in this property during the Hay Winter Weekend. The property could not be better situated, and it was a lovely place to come back to when we weren't out and about.

We had a great stay, the cottage was cosy and well-presented, and is in a perfect location close to Hay's bookshops and pubs. We especially liked the snug armchairs, the woodburner and the lovely kitchen; and the owners were very helpful when we accidentally left some shoes behind.
