This spacious dog-friendly lodge is perfect for a romantic retreat. Set in the Aled Valley, Conwy County, it is in a place of peaceful seclusion with dark skies, abundant wildlife, woodland walks, and twisting streams along hidden valleys. There is much to do further afield too, though all within 12 miles. Go walking and cycling in the local area at Llyn Brenig, or join the Wales Coast Path or Offa’s Dyke Path (starting at Prestatyn). This peaceful property is 3 miles south of the village of Llanfair Talhaiarn, close to the border of Denbighshire and Conwy in north-east Wales. Enjoy sandy beaches and seaside attractions at Conwy, Llandudno, Rhos-on-Sea, Colwyn Bay and Abergele. Keen golfers can play the 18-hole course at Denbigh Golf Club, while anglers can fish for salmon and trout in the River Elwy. Visit the historic market towns of Denbigh and Ruthin, both with a variety of independent restaurants, pubs and a castle. Enjoy a lakeside walk at Llyn Brenig, which also has a visitor centre, cafe, fishery and cycle hire. Visit charming Betws y Coed, the gateway to all the splendour of Snowdonia beyond. This is the perfect base for a couple to enjoy countryside and coast.

Walk up the steps onto the deck, and into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner of this lovely spacious lodge. Find attractive interiors and thoughtful little extras throughout, and beautiful garden views from every window. If you decide to eat in, the kitchen is well-equipped to rustle up a meal with local produce purchased on your travels. When the meal is ready, the dining table is the perfect setting for a romantic meal with lovely views over the garden and beyond. After a full day out, relax on the comfortable sofa or chair, watch your favourites on the TV or listen to music. Cuddle up on the sofa, look through the local guides and plan your holiday adventures. When ready for bed, walk through to the charming bedroom, designed for a good night’s sleep, with lovely views to wake up to. Start the day with a leisurely shower before heading out to explore the local area.

Outside, you can spend time in the large, enclosed garden embracing the stunning views from sunrise to set. Enjoy breakfast on the deck, al fresco dining over on the patio with table, chairs and firepit. Make the most of the sun at the top of the garden on the sun loungers or relax under the shade of the trees. You can store your bikes and there is space for paddleboards in the garden.

A beautiful lodge in an even more beautiful setting. Owners super friendly giving advice on walks, places to go etc. but only there if you want something. Completely private lodge not overlooked by anything, large secure garden that my staffie loved. A hidden gem, we will certainly be returning!

The lodge was extremely warm, comfortable and beautifully situated in a lovely , quiet location. Its ideally placed for those interested in walking , painting or wildlife and nature but also not far from the coast. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. Would happily go back.
