  • Soak up the experience of life on a working smallholding
  • Kids will love sleeping on the ‘Crog Lofft’ above the living room
  • Feel right at home in the characterful property with beautiful exposed beams

Property code: OC-WAW313

Located on a working smallholding, this stone barn is ideal for exploring the great outdoors around Mid Wales, with plenty of opportunities to get stuck in on the farm itself. Couples and families will love the array of activities within easy reach, including Black Mountain Geopark (10 miles), a great option for those in search of an

adventure, Talley Woodlands (3 miles) for walking trails with breathtaking views across the Brecon Beacons, and Brechfa Forest (11.5 miles) with a number of mountain biking trails.

This countryside cottage is full of character, with an open-plan living space up one step from the entrance, featuring high ceilings, elegant exposed beams, a wood burner-effect electric fire and a three-seater sofa to make the most of the space in the evenings. For mealtimes, there’s a pine dining table with four chairs, just metres away from the well-equipped kitchen. The first and most unusual of the bedrooms is the Crog Lofft room, which sits above the living room and is accessed by an open-tread ladder-style set of wooden steps. Although headroom is limited, this twin room is the perfect place for older kids to camp out for an extra special stay. The second room is down one step from the lounge, and is a double with plenty of storage in matching pine furniture. Serving the property is a shower room with a heated towel rail, an ideal place to wash off after a day of outdoor adventures.

The garden area has a small decked patio with a bistro table and chairs for dining alfresco. The top level of the garden has a summerhouse with views that stretch for miles, and it’s the best place on the farm to catch a sunset. For those wanting to get involved in life on the farm during a stay, the owners are happy to show guests around the 30-acre smallholding with chickens, ducks, goats, sheep and cattle.

We do not allow electric charging at our property. Nearest charger is in car park in Llandeilo.

Amazing cottage in an amazing location. Only sounds of birds and farm animals so very relaxing stay, if you are after it. Beautiful views from the back garden, no matter the weather as you can hide in a shed. No light pollution at night, so stargazing is just breath taking and the best sleep we all had in a long time. Cottage is situated on a worRead moreking farm, children will be able to help feeding animals in the morning. Owners are really lovely and helpful. Many lovely walks around and cute, little villages to visit. Coast only 1 hour away. Hide

We loved our stay at the Beudy! Our daughter especially loved feeding the animals on the small holding, and her "balcony bed"! It's such a lovely, quirky property with some beautiful outdoor space around and about, amazing views, and very friendly hosts. Lovely and cool inside on the very hot days we ended up having.

Our fist visit to Wales. We loved the silence, the nature and changeable weather. Loved the surroundings and people. Some of the views will certainly stay in my memory, the hedges, the glass dome in the botanical gardens, people at Tipi Valley, the little beach at Llangrannog. Thank you so much.

Our second stay at the Beudy. Such a nice, peaceful retreat for all of us. We recommend a visit to Carreg Cennen Castle and to the National Botanical gardens, which are excellent. Cwm Du has a quaint little pub with limited opening hours, so check before you visit. Nice woodland walks from Talley Abbey, Cwm Hir looks interesting. Beudy is a lovely converted cowshed with everything needed for a relaxing holiday: a well equipped kitchen, open lounge space, comfortable bed and hot electric shower. the location is fabulous, overlooking the valley but sheltered by the hillside so very pleasant to sit out with an evening drink (well it was for us, I guess being Wales it might raiRead moren sometimes). And the neighbours - goats (whose number increased by 2 while we were there, very cute), Spider the cat and of course Linda and Ian who are lovely hosts. There are good walks around (although not all footpaths are in in tip top condition ...), and we recommend hiring electric bikes in Abergorlech and exploring the forest tracks and back roads. We thoroughly recommend Beudy for a quiet holiday. Hide
