Property code: OC-488065

This cabin is ideal for a romantic couples’ escape in the wilds of Snowdonia. It could also suit a single person looking to get away from it all in the countryside. Set on a working farm, the location has been chosen to make the most of the inspiring views. There are wonderful walks to enjoy from the doorstep and the little village of Cemaes is just 1 mile away. Here you will find a village shop, a cafe and a friendly local pub. The larger town of Machynlleth is 7 miles away with a good range of shops and restaurants along with the acclaimed Alternative Energy Centre. Both walkers and cyclists will love the area with many trails to discover and the Snowdonia National Park just 15 miles away. Mountain bikers shouldn’t miss a day at the popular Coed y Brenin biking centre near Dolgellau about 15 miles away. If you’d like a day at the beach, then the sandy bays of Aberdyfi and Ynys Las are each 19 miles away.

The beautifully designed cabin was featured on the Channel 4/Netflix documentary 'Cabins in the Wild'. Materials such as slate and wood have been sensitively selected to be in keeping with the cabin’s stunning natural setting. Inside the open-plan living space, guests will find a clever and compact design. There is a pull-up table that’s perfect for two and a sumptuous king-size bed for rest and relaxation that elevates at the touch of a button. A wood burner keeps things warm and cosy and there is a long slim picture window to one end that perfectly frames the mountain views and sunsets. The small kitchenette comes with two gas hobs, a kitchen sink, a microwave and a miniature fridge – just enough gear to whip up a simple tasty meal while you admire the views. There is also an en-suite shower room.

Outside, guests will find an elevated wooden deck positioned to make the most of the views. The cabin is gloriously private and serene with far-reaching views and greenery all around. This is a Dark Sky zone, so guests can wrap up, settle into the comfortable outdoor loungers and look out for shooting stars.

What a beautiful surprise to walk into, our first view of a place so beautifully lit in the middle of amazing countryside. As it was quite dark when we arrived the views upon walking up were just spectacular. Llion was so helpful during our stay and Manon, "thank you" for the surprise with the delicious cake. We are so happy to be back! This is our third visit to Caban Llechi and I think we love it more every time. We could stare at the beautiful view for hours and we've loved watching the new arrivals skipping around the field. We have been incredibly lucky with the weather - the spring sunshine has been beautiful and we've certainly made the most of iRead moret walking in the mountains. Cadair Idris is an absolute favourite - we walked up the Minffordd path to the summit before heading down towards Pen y Bwlch Coch, which was a lovely, quiet walk, we even caught an air show through the narrow mountains. We also went on one of our favourite walks to date, we parked at Bryn Hafod and walked up to Aran Faddwy - the views were breathtaking! We walked along the ridge to Aran Benllyn - thank you for the recommendation. We wondered to the Mawddach Pizza near Dolgellau which we would highly recommend - possibly the best pizza we've ever had. We've also loved grabbing a morning coffee and breakfast from Ty Cemaes. Thank you so much again for the most wonderful and relaxing stay. Hide

A beautifully sited cabin, with stupendous views. The cabin is small so comfort is limited to a degree but it has all the basics, a toilet, a hot shower, effective heating, basic cooking and a great bed. And lots of little extras - books and games, a welcome pack, milk in fridge. A great choice for a complete get away.
