A luxury dog-friendly retreat near Tal-y-bont in Mid Wales, this exquisite, semi-detached cottage with a hot tub, is ideal for a family getaway or even for two families eager to escape together. Situated 8 miles from Aberystwyth, it is well positioned for mountain walks and days on the beach. Sleeping six guests across two bedrooms, it is 7 miles from the long beach at Borth, where you can picnic on the golden sands and swim in the sea. Keen hikers can enjoy picturesque mountain and country walks from the doorstep, while those who prefer the bustle of the town, can spend time in Aberystwyth. Visit the castle while you are here or hire bicycles and enjoy the sights from the saddle.

Open the front door to the cottage, which is one of two adjoining properties within this scenic setting. Head through to the open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner to put the kettle on or prepare dinner, then call your family through to dine. Relax together afterwards in front of the crackling wood burner and perhaps watch a film on the TV/DVD. Take one step up to the hall, with access to the patio and the family bathroom, then another two steps up to the bedrooms. Each of these has a king-size bed and a single, plus a TV, to suit family sleeping arrangements, and one has an en-suite shower room.

Gaze out across the valley from the large, enclosed garden. Bubble in the hot tub out here too and fire up the BBQ when you wish to cook out in the fresh air.

What a gem we have found!! In both the host and the cottage. Our week has been amazing. We booked last minute as wanted to get away and relax after being ill over Christmas.
