This detached stone farmhouse is in a secluded, rural location at the end of a no-through lane, and has glorious views from all the main rooms. It is ideal for a family or group of friends and, with its many facilities, you may never want to leave. However, should you muster the energy there is excellent local walking, including Glyndwr's Way, a public footpath that runs alongside the property, and it is just 8 miles to the south-eastern edge of the Snowdonia National Park. From the small market town of Llanfair Caereinion, 8 miles away, you can catch a steam train for a picturesque 9-mile ride down the valley to Welshpool. This large town, known as the ‘gateway to Wales’, has a range of shops and supermarkets, pubs and restaurants, as well as the National Trust’s medieval Powis Castle.

There is something for everyone in this beautiful dog friendly property, and plenty of space to either relish the peace and quiet or get together and socialise. Where will you choose to relax? There is the oak-beamed lounge, with huge inglenook fireplace, wood burner and TV, the snug, a quiet reading area by the former fireplace in the original, large hallway, or the dedicated TV room with its range of comfortable seating and a smart TV, situated in the former cellar. The kitchen is an impressive room with beautiful fitted cupboards and wall racks, open-plan to the dining room, where the beamed ceiling, stone wall and arched window (with a view) really create an atmosphere. There is also a useful entrance porch/WC on the ground floor. A beautiful oak staircase rises to the first floor, where you will find a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a double bedroom, and a good-sized single bedroom (with the addition of a single pull out bed suitable for children only and with some sloping ceilings, but generally good head room), as well as a family shower room.

With its wonderful views, using the log-fired hot tub outside will be a great pleasure, as will simply sitting on the picnic bench on the patio on a warm evening. The barn adjacent to the farmhouse is used as storage by the owner, but an undercover area to one side has table tennis and a bike rack for your use. This cottage boasts it's energy efficiency through powering the property though the use of solar panels. Firewood for the log burner and hot tub comes from wind fall timber sourced from a local family business 3 miles away. Furthermore, water also comes from a borehole behind the house where the waste water is returned back into the ground via the treatment plant in the field.

Beautifully placed in remote Valley, only one other house could be seen from the property (a mile away on the other side of the valley). Stunning property, real home from home. This place is truly food for the soul. Its down a proper farm road, so winter/ snow access could be fun ! It's about 1km to the nearest main road. Would go again at the dropRead more of a hat. Brynderwen was the perfect holiday destination for us. The cottage is situated in the heart of Wales with lovely views and no close neighbours apart from the cows and sheep. Everything we needed was there and more. The basement TV room was a great extra as the children often went down there to watch Netflix in the evening. We had a few matches of tRead moreable tennis and the bbq amd hot tub had good use too. There is plenty to do in all directions, we did waterfall walks, the beach, snowdon and steam train rides, with plenty more we didn't have time to do. It's the perfect getaway for families, friends or couples whether you want to explore or relax and hopefully we will be back. Hide
