Defynnog is home to the International Welsh Rarebit Centre - this is a great spot for some lunch. You will find handy amenities like a garage and shop in nearby Sennybridge (1 mile) as well a pony trekking at Gilfrach Equitation which is 3 miles away and you can also enjoy golf at Brecon Golf Club (8 miles). A bit further afield is the market town of Brecon (8 miles) where you can enjoy boating along the River Usk; it is also the origin point of the long-distance Taff Trail which winds 56 miles south to Cardiff. Bring your telescope for stargazing - the area is an official Dark Sky Reserve. Other highlights in the area include Dan-yr-Ogof Caves (9.5 miles), Ystradfellte Waterfalls (14.5 miles), and the Brecon Beacons Railway (19 miles).
