Escape with the family to this sympathetically restored, traditional property in a peaceful plot adjacent to pastoral farmland on the Llyn Peninsula. This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty boasts a wealth of wildlife and water sports so you’ll never be short of something to do. There are three different beaches to choose from (Abersoch, Machroes and Porth Neigwl) all a little over a mile away, each with restaurants, tea rooms and bars. Abersoch Bay’s flat water is especially ideal for those wishing to try wakeboarding, waterskiing, stand-up paddleboarding and windsurfing. A farm shop with a cafe for the freshest local produce lies just over half a mile east, and you can play golf at the nearby club (1.6 miles).

This property is a great base for exploring the local area and inside you’ll find reverse-level accommodation. At ground level you’ll find two bedrooms - a charming double with a beamed ceiling as well as a twin, which has French doors leading out to the patio. There’s also a spacious bathroom with a separate shower. Upstairs, the real heart of the home is the fantastic and stylish, triple-aspect, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with an oriel window, a wood burner, rich oak flooring, a TV housed in a French grey armoire and Ercol-style seating and dining furniture. This really is a great space for spending time together and as its found on the first floor, it takes full advantage of elevated rural views. Also on this level is a cosy single bedroom and a WC.

The garden with patio and lawns is at the rear, bordered by a wire fence. Set over two levels and furnished with a table, chairs and a BBQ, it’s ideally set up for al fresco family meals. Here you may also catch a glimpse of birds flying in and out of a nesting box attached to the shed which has plenty of beach items you can borrow.

The Brambles is a lovely home. It is well equipped with dishwasher, washing machine etc, as well as little things like some staples in the cupboard. The log burner makes it really cosy at night. The location is perfect; just a few minutes drive from Abersoch centre and there are some lovely walks (you can walk down the lanes to Machroes beach) witRead moreh stunning views of the sea, mountains and countryside. The Sun Inn, where you can get good food, is also in walkable distance. Ian and Pauline kindly left a welcome note and a bottle of wine for us on our arrival and gave us their number to contact if we needed to. Abersoch is a little gem, with beautiful beaches and breathtaking views. Don't just stick to the centre but explore the area. If you choose to stay here you won't be disappointed! Hide

The property itself is very good and has all the basics you are likely to need if you are used to self catering. A good pub and farm shop are within easy reach and the beaches are walking distance for the active although with a free carpark at Hells Mouth why would you walk? The lane is not for the faint hearted if you are not used to country driRead moreving but that is a mere detail and out of the owners control anyway. If you have children you can always hope the farmer puts the bull in with the herd right outside the picture window, great entertainment for kids! All around a great holiday and I imagine its amazing in better weather than we had. Hide
