Located on what was previously a farmyard, this beautifully renovated cottage (one of four on-site) provides couples or solo travellers a welcoming hideaway on the outskirts of the market town of Bala. Everything you need is within walking distance, from restaurants and bars to cafes and shops. This charming Snowdonia town is home to the largest natural lake in Wales, Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake), with watersports, lakeside cycling, walking, and a scenic steam train ride. There is also an indoor swimming pool and slide at the lakeside leisure centre, with fishing, golf and pony trekking all on offer nearby. For those looking for adrenaline-fuelled fun, visit the National White Water Rafting Centre ( 4 miles), the high-speed go-karting circuit in Cerrigydrudion (12 miles), Zip World and Bounce Below at Blaenau Ffestiniog (18 miles) and Coed y Brenin Mountain Biking Centre (23 miles). Explore other popular market towns such as Dolgellau and Ruthin, discover amazing views from the Snowdonia mountain tops, go underground at Llechwedd Slate Caverns (18 miles) and step into a different world at the mind-boggling Portmeirion village (25 miles).

This romantic retreat has everything needed for a fabulous stay in this stunning part of Wales. A cosy, open-plan living space with underfloor heating occupies the ground floor. The lounge area features a sumptuous L-shaped sofa along with a TV, and the kitchen comes fully equipped for all your culinary needs. Upstairs, tucked under the sloping eaves, an inviting bedroom awaits with chunky exposed beams above and a plush double bed to melt into at the end of the day. The adjacent shower room features a contemporary walk-in shower and stylish fixtures and fittings.

Outside, there is a small patio to the front and rear of the property with a table and chairs for two. A BBQ is available upon request.

We were very impressed with our first sight of the cottage(s) and we weren't disappointed with what was inside, as well. It was very clean, comfortable and had everything that we could possibly need and more! Located next to Llyn Tegid, where there's lots of water sport activities to try it's also close to Snowdonia National Park and within easy Read moretravelling distance for a lot of other tourist locations in N Wales. We enjoyed our stay here very much and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Hide

A beautiful barn conversion ideally situated near the lake with all amenities nearby. Underfloor heating kept us cosy in February and was also very peaceful and quiet. Book with confidence.

That was a last minute decision. We spent our Christmas in this pretty cottage. The cottage is well-equiped. Very clearn. We got everything we needed. We cooked out Christmas dinner. The owner is very kind. They put up the Christmas decorations and provided seasons hamper. Feeling warmly welcomed. The bathroom is spacious. The shower is so powerful.Read more Lucky us! The location is so easy to everywhere. 5-minute walk to the late, 5-minute walk to the hills, and a couple of minutes to shops, coffee shops and pubs. We had a few walks and drove around the lake and to places. The rural road to Dolgellau is so beautiful. So many walking routes. We will come back when the weather is good. Hide

Cleanliness is a high priority for the owners and this was apparent on arrival. Bala is perfectly placed to explore this part of North Wales.
