This stunning penthouse property incorporates the top two floors of a traditional Victorian terrace along Aberystwyth Prom and has been renovated to the highest standard, sleeping four in luxury. It’s ideal for a family or two couples looking to explore this university town. The promenade and beach are directly opposite the house for seaside strolls or you can go back in time at Pen Dinas Hill Iron-Age hillfort or Aberystwyth Castle ruins. Constitution Hill rises 430 feet up from the northern end of the promenade – you can walk up and down or, better yet, take the Aberystwyth Cliff Railway – the longest funicular electric cliff railway in Britain, running since 1896. Culture vultures should check out what’s on at the Arts Centre and National Library of Wales.

Entering the propetry on the second floor, you come into the beautiful, open-plan kitchen, living and dining room which is flooded with light, sleekly decorated with the same bright wood-style flooring throughout. There are some fantastic windows in this property, but the superstar has to be the big bay in the living area. Complete with window seat and cosy armchairs with a commanding view straight out to sea, you could waste hours here. There’s also a sofa, feature stone wall with decorative fireplace and a modern dining table for four. The sleek kitchen takes up one side of the room which means the cook won’t miss out on anything. The spacious king-size bedroom is also on this floor with modern feature radiator and en-suite shower room and WC. Upstairs – on the third floor – the characterful twin room has Velux windows in a sloping ceiling plus a feature stone wall. There’s another walk-in shower room on this floor.

It’s true that this property comes with no outside space or garden but with the sea and beach literally a stone’s throw away, that isn’t such a problem. If you fancy getting further afield, why not beach-hop around Cardigan Bay? Or climb aboard the Vale of Rheidol Railway’s steam train to visit other places between Aberystwyth and Devil’s Bridge further inland.

It was a lovely, well equipped apartment including dishwasher and washer/dryer which came in handy when my husband decided to go for a dip in the sea! We recommend Harlech Castle and it was very easy to get there and to other attractions from Aberystwyth. Great to have a car parking space too. This is a superb apartment in every way. Great location directly on the promenade with wonderful, relaxing sea views from the bay window. Beautifully styled and decorated and lovely quality to everything provided. We could not have asked for more. There are several short flights of stairs to the top floor but worth the effort for what you find whenRead more you reach the top. The communications with the owner were efficient and friendly throughout. The key code access means you never have to worry about an actual key. Plenty of information provided on things to do, places to go and recommendations for good eateries. We were very happy with Pumlumon Penthouse for our week in Aberystwyth. The whole property is in excellent condition and feels classy on arrival. The apartment itself was much more spacious than we expected and, of course, enjoys spectacular water views! The furnishings are of a high standard and tasteful, so the apartment feels warm and luxurious.Read more The hosts have thought of everything here, so we enjoyed being able to cook our own food sometimes in the well-equipped kitchen. The apartment is at the top of the building with many stairs to access it, so it's not a good option for those who might have difficulty with stairs (especially with luggage). The car park was handy but very tight in terms of access especially when both spaces were in use. We've stayed in Aber 20+ times over the years and this is by far the most comfortable and spacious accommodation we've enjoyed. For not much more than a B&B, this apartment offers so much more and we highly recommend it for anyone wanting to be on the Prom with every creature comfort! Hide

The information really needs to say that the penthouse is only accessed by stairs. I had assumed that there would be a lift. I would not have booked otherwise as I suffer from chronic arthritis. This made climbing 4 flights of stairs very difficult

This is a lovely well-equipped flat, with no noise pollution from the environment, however, there are 50 steps from pavement to the living area of the flat which I think should be clearly stated. The kitchen area, beds and bathrooms were all excellent with comfortable beds but the sofa/chairs were not very comfortable.

This apartment is in a fabulous location with views that just have to be looked and looked at. it was very clean and well equipped - we cooked and ate in and had everything we needed for this. It was great to have parking just out the back and to be so close to shops, restaurants and the chippy! We would definitely come back here to watch the suRead morensets and the dolphins. Hide

In the info about the apartment there was no mention of 5 sets of stairs to climb and being in our 70s we found this very difficult. Also, there was hardly any hanging space for clothes, none for dresses at all. The living are was very small and not really suitable for 4 adults.

The property was clean so have given it full marks but was there was a slight issue with the oven when we used it there was a lot of smoke from residue in the oven when we were preheating it so that could do with cleaning as we had to open the window which is not ideal in November. also we like to clean the toilet whilst we are there and give the kRead moreitchen a good wipe down before we leave however other than a pack of wipes there were no other cleaning items left such as sponge to wash the pans rather than placing in dish washer or any spray cleaner we could use to clean the toilet or the kitchen sides that may be beneficial to the property as realistically people are not going to buy cleaning products during a short stay however this is a minor issue like the oven and we will be booking the property for next year. Very impressed with the property and the communication regarding the holiday leading up to it which we have not experienced with other companies so far Hide

Lovely place to stay and everything you could need in this clean, spacious apartment, with gorgeous views. The only thing we felt could do with updating is the sofa which is quite saggy and uncomfortable - it wasn't a problem though as we just used the chairs and they are very comfortable.
