We had a wonderful Oct half-term break in lovely Hafod Gau. On our first day we bought an OS Explorer map of this area from the book shop in Machynlleth and we enjoyed beautiful, autumnal walks in the local area, with stunning views. We recommend walking down to the village shop/cafe, where we had delicious home-made cakes and hot drinks. The frienRead moredly shop/cafe dog called Cairo was a big hit with the kids. Snowdon is about 1.5 hours drive away. We booked parking at Pen-y-pass online the evening before going. We went up the Pyg track and down the Miners track. It was very very windy (especially when climbing higher) and unfortunately it wasn't safe to climb up to the summit but still a great trek and adventure. Aberdyfi is a picturesque seaside village, about hour drive away with a lovely beach. We went there for a beach walk towards Tywyn and then headed up into the countryside, walking back to Aberdyfi with fantastic coastal views. Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome, and for providing such a great place to unwind, enjoy nature and spend family time. Love and best wishes Hide

Thanks for a lovely stay. Beautiful cottage in a wonderful setting. Recommend local walks and canoeing on Tal-y-llyn lake. Also a card that their daughter had made herself with the following inside: Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely cottage. The games room is my favourite.
