This inviting retreat is perfect for a couple or a family with a baby to relax and enjoy the tranquil setting, with lovely wooded and country walks on the doorstep. Designed in contemporary style, the semi-detached property is all on one level and exceptionally spacious. Secluded but not isolated, it is within easy reach of shops in the county town of Carmarthen (5 miles), which lies on the banks of the River Tywi. Enjoy a wander around the town’s indoor market, open six days a week, where you can buy local produce and browse arts, crafts and vintage stalls. Take a ride on a steam train from the Gwili Railway station in the village of Bronwydd (1 mile). Named after the beautiful River Gwili, which runs alongside the line, the engine runs 4 miles through a lovely landscape of farmland and steeply wooded hillsides. Allow a full day to explore and enjoy the remarkable National Botanical Garden of Wales (11 miles). Discover the Apothecary’s Garden of healing herbs, the Bee Garden, the British Birds of Prey Centre and much more in a fascinating open-air setting which covers 560 acres.

Woodland views from every room enhance the peaceful atmosphere of this appealing property, which is beautifully furnished in a contemporary style. Relax on two comfortable sofas in the living room where the TV comes with a firestick, allowing you to access your own streaming accounts. A sleek kitchen with a dining area looking out to trees invites guests to cook up a storm. The light and airy king-size bedroom has a striking feature stone wall, together with an en-suite containing a walk-in shower and WC with a quirky vintage cistern. A separate cloakroom houses a WC.

Outside, double doors lead to a fenced patio area with outdoor furniture, sunshade and BBQ.

The property itself has such great potential but falls short on a few points. The main road is busy so there is a lot of traffic noise. The layout doesnt make the most of the view and the sofas arent the most comfortable. Bring insect repellent! The midges are out in force here with the stream so close by. I found dead insects in the fruit bowl andRead more around the property. Food spill on the table runner and lack of attention to detail meant there were a few dirty areas. Make sure you read the welcome booklet well! I had a message from the owner saying their cleaners had complained because we hadn't stripped the beds and had turned of a security light. The light switches are hard to find for each room so if you try one that doesnt do what you want make sure you switch it back! The public footpath up the hill to the side of the property is beautiful and there are a lot of beautiful places within a 30-40min journey. Hide

lovely comfy place to stay right beside a stream . The bed was really comfortable and the blackout blinds helped us to sleep in longer . There is a footpath right beside the property for dog walks but it is quite a steep path . There are no other footpaths nearby . It made a great base for exploring carmarthenshire and the black mountains . plus there is a lovely steam railway that runs close by along the river . Hide

The cottage itself is pristine and immaculately kept. However there is very limited garden area. The only small patio area is in great need of repair or replaced. Parking is off a main busy road and is tricky.
