Set on a 60-acre farm, deep within the beautiful Forest of Dean, the inviting, two-bedroom abode, which dates back to the 1600s, welcomes up to four guests. One of several, individual holiday homes on the unique site, which includes gardens and woods, plus fields, where you can see rescued wild animals, the property offers use of the shared outdoor pool during the spring and summer months which is solar heated during July and August The holiday cottage income directly funds the Owner's Exotic Rescue centre.

Enter this delightful country retreat and find yourselves in a homely, open-plan, farmhouse-style kitchen/diner, with painted stone walls. Here you can whip up tasty meals for your party then dine together at the wooden table. Wander on through the ground floor to discover a king-size bedroom, with an en-suite with shower room. Climb the stairs to emerge in a stylish lounge up on the mezzanine level. Watch TV or a DVD up here or simply gaze out at the view through the picture window. Beautiful place.with a magic that draws you in. So relaxing too. This is our second visit and this time we invited my sister and her husband, who were both enchanted by the animals and the overriding aura of peace. I would thoroughly recommend this to animal lovers and those who see a get away from it all break in unique surroundings.

We had the most amazing time at the Wildside Exotic Animal Retreat. We were woken by gibbons in the morning, enjoyed afternoons relaxing while watching the Capybara, Racoon dogs, Wallabies, Bob Cats and more. The area is a walkers paradise and the local towns are beautiful. We would love to return one day !

Unusual place but cant fault it in any way. Well placed for lots of activities, sightseeing and plenty of places to eat and drink in the area, or just chill out in the grounds.

Cottage, overall was fine. The Shower Unit was excellent. Finally, never stayed in any 2 Bedroomed Cottage & not allowed even access to the second Bedroom unless a supplement was paid, in my case 172.00.

Lindsey and Frank are the lovely owners. They are very approachable and chatty. The cottage has some very interesting artefacts scattered around making it feel rather special. We made full use of the pool as the weather was hot, even though its not heated (much?) in June. A variety of animals potter around in the fields and their secure compounds. A peaceful, comfortable and clean cottage. High-end dcor, furnishings and equipment. Lovely comfortable beds. The pool is large and clean and we had the perfect hot week to enjoy making full use of it alongside the comfortable sun-loungers! It was lovely to be able to chill out and watch the animals with an early morning/evening beverage down at thRead moree Gazebo viewing area. Well done to Lindsay and Frank and their team for all the hard work they are doing for rescued animals here at Wildside. Hide
