Arrive to a delicious welcome pack filled with goodies to savour in the gorgeous garden or amid bright colours in the lounge. One of two lodges in the owner’s grounds, holiday with family and walk to the top of the Sugar Loaf Mountain, into the vibrant market town of Crickhowell or around the 3.5 acres of beautiful gardens. After adventurous days summiting peaks and following well-trodden trails, treat yourselves to a steam in the sauna and unwind before bed.

Steps lead to this Scandinavian-style lodge which exudes a cosy, calm and colourful ambience. Hints of blue and red flow between rooms, livening up the spaces which sit beneath sloping ceilings and exposed beams. Extend the open-plan living area by throwing open the French doors and letting a summer breeze whip through the air. For the ultimate relaxation after strenuous adventures and time in the great outdoors, spend time in the sauna before sipping al fresco tipples and basking in the last of the daylight before bed. Two bedrooms invite you to hit the pillow and doze off before waking for a coffee from the machine.

Whether you fancy a waterside wander, a walk to the top of Table Mountain or a delicious plate of food, bustling Crickhowell has something for everyone and is just 1.5 miles from your door. Abergavenny (5 miles) is a popular destination for foodies and hosts an annual food festival which is well worth visiting if your trip coincides. For the thrill seekers among you, the largest natural lake in South Wales, Llangorse, is 12 miles away and boasts a fantastic activity centre where you can make a splash.

Gardens were absolutely beautiful and the views from the site were amazing. Single road bit of a trek to get through if you are not a confident driver but lots of other drivers are very considerate. No actual parking outside the facilities so need to be aware of transporting your luggage but the owner kindly let us park outside his house to get as Read moreclose as we could. Only half an hour from Abergavenny which was a lovely little town and an hour from Cardiff so great location. Great place if you want a quiet retreat and are happy to travel out to places. Hide

We enjoyed our stay, and the beautiful garden in particular. The children really liked that there were also goats and pigs.

Cottage very comfortable, but the the shower is tight for a person over a certain size, Beds and sofa comfortable, nice to sit outside and watch the the dogs play. Even though garden is not enclosed and you need to keep an eye on what your dogs are doing, as the garden is shared with the other cottage, You are on a very steep hill so a carRead more is essential. Cannot fault anything, cottage contains all that you need for short comfortable stay. The garden is the seller without doubt, nature is in abundance at this location and where else do you find sheep and rabbits in the garden first thing and dragonfly's zooming around the living room. Special location , great dwelling and resources. Excellent host
