This gorgeous wooden lodge offers a tranquil location for some well-earned rest and repose in the mid-Welsh countryside. It’s part of a complex of similar self-contained properties, each with their own kitchens and shower rooms, in a wonderful rural location 1.5 miles from the nearest pub. You’ll have an array of outdoor activities nearby, from short walks to longer hikes and water sports like paddleboarding and kayaking at the 13-acre Llandrindod Lake (7 miles). The pod is ideal for a couple or a family of four, with a maximum of two adults accommodated.

Your hillside sanctuary features a lovely open-plan living area with pleasing wooden walls and a soothing colour scheme of greys. When you’re tired from busy days out exploring, unwind on the plush L-shaped sofa, perhaps popping some light entertainment on the Smart TV. The modern kitchen is ideal for whipping up meals and prepping treat-filled picnics. Both bedrooms are located towards the back – one king-sized and a second with bunk beds for younger guests both presented with luxury bed linens ensuring a restful night's sleep. Outside, you’ll have a peaceful veranda for kicking back in the fresh air and absorbing views over the farm animals in their paddocks. A sunny relaxation area complete with a picnic bench and a private hot tub is the icing on the cake at this welcoming dwelling.

In Llandrindod Wells (7 miles), you can explore shops, cafes and tea shops in this quintessential 19th-century Welsh spa town. Landod, as it’s colloquially known, is also home to the National Cycle Museum – a must-see for bike fans! If you’re keen to immerse yourself in nature, head to the Elan Valley (15 miles) and explore its pretty reservoirs. Knighton (15 miles) is your gateway to the wonderful Shropshire Hills AONB, and you can also join the ancient Offa’s Dyke path there.

Lovely little place for family with young kids. My girls (7&10) absolutely loved it and particularly enjoyed playing with the very friendly horse and goats in the field opposite. Beautiful location. Host was very welcoming

A lovely little cabin which was in a lovely quiet location. Made a good base to explore mid Wales. Host was very welcoming and friendly. The kids particularly enjoyed the hot tub and meeting lovely Molly the dog. Would recommend.

Beautiful getaway- easy to find, well equipped, amazing views, great hot tub and nothing too much for the host. We stayed as a family of 3- child aged 6, lots of room for us all, nice and warm (weather was -5 out!), games available as well as the TV.

Fabulous! We had a 4 night stay and couldn't have asked for more. The owner is so lovely and the whole place is furnished and equipped beautifully. Spotlessly clean. More roomy than the photos suggest. It was perfect and in THE most incredibly beautiful area. The drive to Borth beach is EPIC, just breathtaking (take a kite!) and a visit to Devils BRead moreridge is a must. The nearby Elan Valley is stunning. Stargazing from the hot tub was a favourite. Dragon Pedalos at Llandrindod lake also great fun. Hide
