The ground floor of this property is where the bedrooms lie, with a stylish king-size bedroom and a playful twin room making it a perfect fit for those travelling with children. Both bedrooms share the use of the family bathroom where you’ll find peace in the evenings sitting in the tub with a glass of bubbles in hand. Walk up the staircase to socialise in the open-plan living area which makes the best of the picturesque views over the River Usk and beyond in its elevated position. This space is full of character with exposed beams and the original toll-house windows, providing a nod to the property’s fascinating history and seamlessly blending the old with the new. Situated next to a bright window, the kitchen is a lovely space to prepare a meal to serve up on the dining table for four. You could pack a picnic and take the meandering canal path from Crickhowell to Abergavenny (9 miles) where you’ll find a whole host of activities, from the chance to tackle the mighty peak of the Sugar Loaf Mountain to a fascinating visit to the historic castle which encompasses Abergavenny Museum. Glide along the water at the tranquil location of Llandegfedd Reservoir (18 miles) where the watersports centre offers a whole host of family-friendly activities in a setting of true natural beauty.

A beautiful cottage right next to the river in Crickhowell. The location is perfect. You can walk up to the High Street in 2 minutes where you will find lots of lovely independent shops and a few pubs. We also picked up a leaflet of walks from the Tourist Info. and there are a number of walks you can do straight from the cottage without having to uRead morese the car. We would recommend this for a visit to Crickhowell. Hide

Nothing not to like! Location excellent both for the local town and driving off to nearby places. Fitted out with everything needed and the upstairs living arrangement was a great space, overlooking the river and the park. The heating was excellent and the woodburner was an added feature.

Really cosy lodge, very well appointed and with a very generous welcome pack. Situated in a beautiful situation, a short walk from the town. We will probably go again later in the year

Delightful, comfortable and well equipped property conveniently located in a lovely market town surrounded by wonderful countryside. Plenty of walking from the door.

I stayed at the cottage over this past bank holiday weekend with my two sons. We picked the location for the close avaibility of hikes and were not disappointed. The property was perfect for us. It was very clean, comfortable and well equipped, and came with a parking permission for one car in the pub car park. We have just returned from a great few days at The Old Toll house and are already planning our next stay there.The cottage was comfortable and in a very convenient location.Crickhowell was a joy .Many independent shops and places to eat.

Excellent cottage in a great position Very cosy , very large double bed which was very comfy ! Superb views of the river So many walks straight from the front door along the river The local shops and food places are all excellent and great if you do not want to drive anywhere whilst you stay

Lovely quaint cottage. Brilliant up close views of the bridge & the River Usk & the hills beyond. Lovely basket of goodies & a bottle of fizz waiting for us on arrival.
