A uniquely-styled shepherd’s hut in stunning grounds 1 mile from Chirk, home to one of North Wales’ most famous castles. The dog-friendly hut features intimate living areas, a decked area with hot tub and easy access to an impressive range of cultural, historic and natural attractions. It is perfect for couples seeking a romantic break in tranquil surroundings.

The deceptively-spacious hut is located close to the River Ceiriog with views of undulating countryside beyond its front door. It has been finished to a high standard throughout and is adorned with fresh and contemporary soft furnishings. The lounge/kitchen/diner has everything a couple needs for a relaxing break, whether enjoying a romantic meal and snuggling up in front of a late film to throwing open the French doors and soaking up the view with a bottle of fizz to hand. This area is bookended by a double bed at one end of the hut and a cosy shower room at the other. The decked area invites morning coffees while the gravel beach below it offers hot tub soaks and BBQ suppers under the stars.

The River Ceiriog (100 metres) snakes its way in and out of the English border and is home to an impressive array of game fish. Chirk (1 mile) is home to dog-friendly shops and pubs, while the castle sits along the Offa’s Dyke Path. Llangollen, Oswestry and Ellesmere (all within 8 miles) offer various cultural, historic and sporting attractions that will appeal to couples of all ages and interests.

We had a lovely time. The hut was very well equipped. Plenty to see and do in the vicinity including some good walks. A great location and very peaceful. A real escape yet only a mile or so from Chirk. The owner was very kind offering to take us into Chirk and pick us later so we could enjoy a drink whilst out.
