With a secluded location in Snowdonia National Park, this three-bedroom farmhouse offers a haven of tranquillity for families and friends looking to get away from it all. Accessed by a forestry trail in an elevated location above Ganllwyd, this property has magnificent views of the forested hills and Cadair Idris mountain range. It’s a perfect base for active people who love exploring the great outdoors, with a selection of walking and biking trails on your doorstep, including a wonderful walk at the nearby Rhaeadr Ddu waterfalls. It’s great for nature lovers too, with red kites and buzzards circling overhead, and rare pine martens in the trees. The market town of Dolgellau (8 miles) has a farmers’ market, small theatre, shops and pubs, and there are superb walking and cycling routes around Trawsfynydd Lake (6 miles).

This two-storey farmhouse has been extended and renovated to a high specification, with slate floors and underfloor heating downstairs, and exposed oak beams in the original part of the house. The entrance leads you into a spacious and light-filled kitchen/diner, featuring a double range oven, an island unit with breakfast bar, and a large dining table. The L-shaped lounge has a selection of comfortable seating arranged around a wood burner set in an original stone fireplace, with an additional sofa round the corner next to an open fire. An archway leads into the conservatory with more seating and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. A utility room and shower room complete the ground floor. Upstairs, there’s a master bedroom with a king-size bed, a single day bed and an additional pull-out bed, a door to a balcony with bistro table and chairs, and an en-suite shower room. There’s also a double bedroom with single day bed, a twin room, and a family bathroom.

Partially enclosed grounds with a lawned area, picnic table and BBQ surround the farmhouse, perfect for al fresco dining in the peaceful countryside.

Two families consisting four adults, two eleven year olds and three dogs. This was a fabulous cottage with everything you could wish for. The place was spotlessly clean and very warm. The owners met us at the main road and took us to our cottage. This was very helpful as it is in a remote position. Lots of walks and in a very good position to exploRead morere the local area. We all enjoyed our stay and would happily visit again. Make sure you take all your food and drink. No corner shops around here. Hide

In spite of various family appointments cropping up to disrupt the holiday, we all had a wonderful stay. The place is stunning and peaceful and I wish I could have stayed a long time! We had a few very enjoyable days out but I loved coming back to the cottage.
