Set within a row of Aberdovey’s iconic pastel-coloured properties, this apartment provides the perfect base for families and couples looking for a traditional Welsh seaside holiday. The scenic village, where the mountains meet the sea, has a 3-mile sandy beach, and also offers a wide range of water sports. Situated at the southern tip of Snowdonia National Park, you also don’t have to venture far to find mountain tracks and jaw-dropping views. After a day at the beach, return to your cosy apartment with some pysgod a sglodion (aka fish and chips) to enjoy at the dining table overlooking the water.

The homely first-floor apartment is reached via a set of internal stairs. Once inside, discover a bright, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The space is decorated in neutral tones, combining period features with contemporary accessories. This sociable space is great for spending quality time together, cooking in the kitchen, enjoying movie nights on the sofa, or sharing a delicious meal whilst watching the boats bobbing past in the distance. Cottage-style stairs take you to the upper floor, where a delightful double bedroom and a relaxing twin are located. There is no outdoor space, but you are perfectly placed to enjoy morning walks on the beach and there is also a public green outside the property, with benches looking out to sea.

If you can tear yourself away from the charm of Aberdovey, there are some fabulous day trips to enjoy along the Ceredigion coast. Heading north, you’ll soon reach Fairbourne (16 miles). This popular seaside resort has a glorious beach backed by a pebble ridge, and is surrounded by stunning mountains and woodlands. From here, you can take the ferry to the chic resort of Barmouth, where you’ll find an excellent range of independent restaurants and a stunning harbour.

Crabber's Rest is an amazing place and very well equipped. The view over the estuary is stunning and perfectly located in the town. There is lotto do on the doorstep, and the closest station on the Cambrian railway is a 10 min walk away which makes it very easy to travel around. We would definitely recommend the place.

Crabbers Rest is beautifully positioned overlooking the sea at Aberdyfi. Between a Deli selling delicious goodies, and an ice cream parlour it could not be better placed for a perfect holiday. Lovely restaurants and interesting shops are on the doorstep and the endless gorgeous beach stretches for miles. Surrounded by mountainous views this coastalRead more location is idyllic. The apartment is comfortable and well equipped, we had everything we needed for our stay, being dog friendly was an absolute bonus. I would highly recommend the apartment for anyone thinking of staying in the area. We had some lovely visits to Harlech, Barmouth and Aberystwyth and did some great walks in the surrounding landscape, which is stunning. We would recommend the Coast restaurant for dining but its best to book ahead. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Wales and thank you to the owners, Elizabeth and Mike for allowing us to share their delightful home. Hide
