A warm welcome awaits you at this cosy period property, less than 1 mile from Crickhowell in the Brecon Beacons National Park. The property - once part of the village school - sleeps four guests and is ideal for small families and couples. With a cute cottage garden and magnificent views of the River Usk and mountains beyond, the property provides the perfect setting to switch off from everyday life. Take a stroll into Crickhowell or head to Abergavenny (7.5 miles) to find fabulous eateries and open-air markets.

The characterful cottage cleverly combines original features, such as exposed beams, with contemporary touches, including feature wallpaper and chic furniture. The spacious lounge/diner is a delightful area to relax in after a busy day. Parquet flooring brings a touch of elegance, while the wood burner effect electric fire provides a cosy spot to warm the toes after a long walk. When it’s time to say ‘nos da’, head upstairs to the two charming bedrooms: a spacious twin with an additional chair bed and a gorgeous double with far-reaching views. Outside, sip a morning coffee at the bistro set in the pretty garden, listening to the wildlife, and soaking up your tranquil surroundings.

A short walk, less than 1 mile, brings you to Crickhowell. Home to a quaint high street full of independent shops and wonderful cafes and restaurants, it’s a lovely place to while away a lazy afternoon. From here, you can enjoy relaxing strolls along the River Usk or get the heart pumping with a hike to the top of Table Mountain. There are also some beautiful walks from Llangattock. A circular walk takes you to the limestone cliffs of Llangattock Escarpment or you can step back in time with a wander along the towpath of the Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal.

We liked the cottage very much and the area is beautiful. We enjoyed walking into Crickhowell and my husband walked up to the escarpment above Llangattock. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable.

A beautifully equipped and located cottage in pretty and peaceful Llangattock. . Walks straight from the door, and a quick scenic stroll into Crickhowell for shops and places to eat. We drove an hour to Usk Reservoir for some stunning stargazing on a clear night. Table mountain visible from both bedrooms would definitely come back.

This is a very nice property that is clean and comfortable and well equipped. It is really handy having an allocated parking spot. The Horseshoe Inn, just around the corner serves very nice food and good real ale. For more choice in the evening, it is only a 15 mins work over the bridge to the centre of Crickhowell.
