We had a truly amazing time staying at The Lookout! Stylish and homely, on the edge of it all, we felt Porthmadog was the perfect base from which all our adventures began and a welcome rest & reset at their end. We spent many beautifully sunny days (late April early May) exploring the neighbouring towns and villages, as well as Snowdonia National PRead moreark. Yet the couple days we spent recovering, from our long walks and great food (mostly Italian influenced), we could really relax in the balcony sunshine and spend the hours (with a cuppa tea in hand) watching the changing estuary tides, the busy bird life (particularly the oyster catchers!) and the coming and going of the miniature Ffestiniog railway trains. The unconventional layout of The Lookout was an interesting change from normality but something we appreciated with its suiting to the location. Especially waking up, in the early morning, to the deeply magical sunrises painting the skies from behind the mountain horizon. And watching the nightly buildup (from the balcony) to the nearly full flower moon illuminating the estuaries waters, at high tide, was one of the most picturesque evenings imaginable. We were beyond lucky with the weather during our holiday and the people we met in Porthmadog were all so kind and friendly. We couldnt have asked for a better holiday ! Hide
