Escape with your loved ones to this picture-postcard cottage sitting between vineyards in the foothills of the Radnor Forest on the Mid Wales border. Sleeping four people over two beautiful bedrooms, it’s an ideal accommodation option for small families or groups of friends who are in search of an idyllic hideaway to call home while they discover Wales together. Grab your hiking books and set off on a trail through Warren Woods to the Water-Break-its-Neck waterfall (4 miles) – it’s a beautiful spot for a picnic. Alternatively, head into the town of Presteigne to browse the antiques shops and explore the fascinating world of the Victorian judges at the Judge’s Lodging Museum. Further afield, head to Bryngwyn Riding Centre (13.5 miles) and witness Mid Wales’s spectacular scenery from the saddle. Or spend a happy day exploring the quirky bookshops and cosy cafes in Hay-on-Wye (18 miles).

Step inside this beautiful cottage and kick off your shoes in the porch. Make your way through to the open-plan farmhouse-style kitchen/dining area and cook up a tasty meal for your loved ones. Host a casual dinner at the dining table by the window. Afterwards, take a seat by the wood burner in the living room, a beautiful boho-chic space with traditional wooden beams, and settle in front of the Smart TV to watch a movie. Inspired by the serene greenery surrounding the cottage, the decor is a carefully considered mix of restful natural tones and playful vintage finds. A pretty bathroom with a shower over the bath completes the ground-floor layout. Head up the traditional cottage-style stairs, and you’ll discover a handy workstation on the landing, as well as one king-size bedroom and one double.

Step outside and you’ll find a lawned garden with a patio and a dining table. Fire up the BBQ and host an al fresco dinner by the stream. Take the supplied picnic hamper and blanket and wander anywhere around the Vineyard settling down when you find that special spot. There's a fire pit area in the garden and a seating area in the adjoining field with views over the Vineyard where you can also take in the vistas of the surrounding hills. There’s private parking for four cars.
