This lovely, two-storey cottage combines stylish renovation with traditional features, creating a cosy base for seaside getaways with the beach less than a mile away and countryside all around. The property is located on the outskirts of Abersoch (1 mile) in the Llyn Peninsula. Explore the former fishing village and stop for ice cream in the sunshine or family dinners of local seafood. The long, sandy beach is lined with colourful beach huts: why not rent one and spend a whole day relaxing and playing at this scenic beach? Spend a fun afternoon on the nearby picturesque islands of St Tudwal’s and Bardsey, sailing there on an organised boat trip when conditions are good and enjoying the waters as you go. Other seaside destinations are nearby, such as surfing paradise Porth Neigwl (1.5 miles), plus plenty of countryside to ramble with your dog.

Open the front door of this charming stone cottage to find even more treasures inside, starting with the bright and delightful open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with wooden floors throughout. Prepare family dinners with a garden view in the high-ceilinged kitchen that’s well equipped with highlights including the double oven and Nespresso coffee machine. Dine at the six-seater table then make yourselves at home in the large lounge with high ceilings, exposed brickwork and French doors leading to the patio and offering countryside views from the comfort of the corner sofa. Family nights in are cosy thanks to the feature wood burner, home comforts such as lamps and scatter cushions, and the TV with Freeview. This first floor is also home to the master bedroom: a double with wooden floors and an en-suite shower room featuring exposed stone. Head up the staircase to the first floor where there’s a simple double room with a small window overlooking the front garden and a pleasant twin room. The cottage is complete with a first-floor, tiled shower room.

At the front of the cottage, there’s more delightful relaxation space where you’ll find a paved patio area with a dining table and chairs for perfect al fresco dining with countryside views. Lawn and gravel paths surround the patio.

A very comfortable and equipped cottage. We had a lovely time touring around. Locals were very friendly.

I have only rated comfort a 4 due to the upstairs bathroom being so compact it was difficult to use comfortably. However, downstairs accommodation is superb and beautifully set out. Lots of thought has gone into making the garden secure if you have a small Houdini dog. We had a fantastic stay.

Lovely cottage and just far enough outside of Abersoch to be quiet. Only basic free view TV so be prepared-but plenty of games.

Over all great cottages only niggle was upstairs shower room as shower leaked onto the floor and was showing signs of needing update due to the leak. Lack of natural light also unfortunate as did feel like a cupboard

Price a little expensive given out of season and so many shops, cafs and restaurants now closed for most days of the week
