BEAUTIFUL SETTING ON THE EDGE OF THE BRECON BEACONS, WITH HOT TUB

The unique detached barn is set within acres of rolling countryside, where peace, quiet and tranquillity is all yours for the stay. This property has been rebuilt keeping its carbon footprint in mind, with ground source heat pump and UV panels.

Located near Sennybridge, which has numerous pubs and services providing everyday essentials or head to Brecon for a proper Welsh town, complete with cathedral, regimental museum, cinema, mountaineering shops and bike hire. Hay-on-Wye is a favourite, with independent stores, cafes, bike hire and a weekly Thursday morning market. Great walking and cycling from the door, including the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Epynt Way with miles of walking without needing to get in the car. Attractions nearby, The National Showcave Centre for Wales in the heart of the Park with its Dinosaur Park and impressive underground caves. Craig-y-Nos Country Park is also a lovely family day out. Leisure facilities: private hot tub and gym with, cross trainer, running machine, rowing machine, small punch bag and free weights, located in a separate barn.

The accommodation offers THREE bedrooms: 1 super-king-size with a balcony and en-suite bathroom with bath, shower and WC and 2 doubles with 2 additional single pull out z-beds (only suitable for children) and Jack and Jill shower room: which is connected to both doubles, with wet room style shower and WC. Lounge/kitchen/diner: open-plan with wood burner (logs included), Sky TV and DVD. Kitchen area: with Aga, gas wok burner, steam oven, microwave/grill, American fridge/freezer, washing machine, coffee machine and dishwasher, also a fully-equipped gym. Outside: enclosed garden with lawns to the front and side and a terrace at the rear with hot tub. Outdoor furniture and BBQ are also available seasonally. Amenities: ample parking. Bed Linen, towels, electric, under floor heating and Wi-Fi included. Regret no smoking. 2 dogs welcome.

GREAT WALKING:  Walking straight from the door, located on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, there's lots of choice. As well as the main peaks of the Beacons, closer to home, the Epynt Way has just undergone a huge restoration with miles of walking without needing to get in the car.

PEDAL THE PATHWAYS: There are numerous cycle routes too for both mountain bikes and road cyclists, with bike hire available in Brecon and Hay on Wye, even Vespa hire available in Glasbury! Further into the National Park, the Visitor Centre often has star gazing events, as well as being a great place to plan a walk from.

ACTIVITIES WITH KIDS: There is pony trekking for all ages at adventure centre, Cantref, near Brecon with exceptional riding trails up into the National Park. They have an animal petting and small soft play area too, for small children. The Play Barn is a local soft play centre just outside Brecon, incase of a rainy day with under 8's and Brecon has a small independant cinema too. The National Showcave Centre for Wales in the heart of the Park, complete with dinosaur park and impressive underground caves. Craig-y-Nos Country Park is also a lovely family day out.

FEAST & FAYRE: The Felin Fach Griffin, is a great country pub on the road from Brecon to Hay, recently named "Best Pub in Wales, dogs are welcome in the bar area and it's one of our favourites, well worth a trip! Closer to home, within a mile of the barn, The Shoemakers Arms is the heart of the village community and there is a circular route on the Epynt Way which takes in the pub, if you feel you need to walk further to earn your pint!

TOWNS & CITIES: Sennybridge is the closest town, best for the basics, head to Brecon for a proper Welsh town, complete with Cathedral, Regimental museum, cinema and mountaineering shops. Hay on Wye is a favourite, with heaps of independant stores, very good cafes and a weekly Thursday morning market which is worth the trip for the bread alone!

SLEEPS 2 - 6  Three bedrooms sleeping 6 includes: one super king-size master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, two further double bedrooms with the option of adding two single z-beds suitable for children only.

RELAXING: Large open-plan style sitting room with wood burning stove, (logs provided), large TV with Sky, DVD, Wi-Fi, two large leather sofas, plus a large armchair.

DINING: A large open plan dining room, complete with wood burning stove, there is also a breakfast bar within the kitchen, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee and the views across the fields.

KITCHEN: Impressively well equipped contemporary kitchen with Aga, gas wok burner, steam oven, microwave/grill, American fridge freezer with ice maker, toaster, coffee machine, washing machine, dishwasher.

GYM: There is a well-equipped gym which has a cross trainer, running machine, rowing machine, small punch bag and free weights.

KEEPING CLEAN: Two bathrooms in the main barn. En-suite bathroom with wet room style shower, bath tub, double basins and loo. A second bathroom with basin, loo and wet room style shower. 

OUTSIDE: The barn is detached, with plenty of room for parking. There is a private hot tub, outdoor furniture and BBQ on the terrace.

PETS: Up to two dogs are most welcome.

The cottage is beautifully located in acres of open countryside. The layout is really nice, with a spacious ground floor area encompassing a kitchen, dining area & living room. The fire provided a warm glow to the end of the day. There were a great selection of games & DVDs. Upstairs is nicely set out & very comfortable. The hot tub is relaxing in Read moreany weather, with stunning views. There is plenty to do in the area, inc the National Showcave Centre, Henrhyd Falls and Brecon Mountain Railway. Hide

A lovely property, very stylishly renovated. A beautiful setting, which you can particularly appreciate when you are enjoying the hot tub. The pub is a 20 minute walk away, but it does do delicious food and is very welcoming on a wet afternoon.

Beautiful barn conversion. Beautiful area, no traffic, no people. Great pub down the road call the Shoemakers great food and very friendly staff and locals (we spent a great night with a local farmer and his wife). Fabulous time had by all. Defiantly visit the 4 waterfalls, not for the faint hearted but well worth the walk for the views.

The Barn is in an excellent location with stunning views of the countryside. The owners were very helpful recommending places to eat and visit. The hot tub was fab and we enjoyed our evenings chatting and drinking while watching the sunset. We had a small problem with the childrens zbeds but with one phone call to the owner it was very quickly and Read moreeasily sorted. We stayed for 3 nights but wished we had booked for longer. Hide

Had very high expectations due to 5 star rating as that means perfect, right? In brief; amazing location. Nice property. Fab enclosed garden. Well located hot tub. A few design faults/ cleaning issues that impact value perception and 5 star rating in our view, but enjoyable holiday overall, a lot down due to the superb weather during our visit.

We rented the cottage for a family celebration of a milestone birthday, and loved it. The log fire was appreciated on cold nights and especially for warming up after taking in the spectacular clear skies. Well situated for great walks. Combined a break from the rat race with all the modern amenities. Would definitely recommend.
