We love it when we find a unique family barn that ticks all the boxes, walking to the village pub we're ashamed to say, comes high on our list of we've ticked it off quickly! Next box is the hot tub, then the view and this one is impressive, acres of beautiful rolling countryside with not another soul in sight, total peace, quiet and tranquility is all yours for the enjoyed from the aforementioned hot tub!

Offering complete flexibility for fabulous family stays, complete with gym for those looking to keep in shape during their stay, the main barn sleeps six in style and there is additional exclusive use of the annex just next door which provides the option to invite another four.

There’s a fabulous open-plan kitchen in the main barn, complete with breakfast bar, dining table and double-sided wood burning stove separating the dining room and the living room. Oak and glass maximises the views and the handmade kitchen comes complete with Aga, wok burner, steam oven to name just a very few of the gadgets we discovered!

Upstairs you’ll find a super king-size bedroom with an impressive en-suite bathroom and two double bedrooms which share a Jack and Jill wet room. There is also an option for two z-beds in the main barn, however this is only recommended for children.

The annex, which comes at a modest incremental cost, offers a further double bed, plus double sofa bed, all within the comfort of a self-contained unit with open plan living space and private kitchen (perfect for older teens or granny)!

Outside, you'll find rolling acres, fully fenced with a pretty garden, stunning countryside, bubbly hot tub and seasonal use of outdoor furniture, Weber BBQ and fire pit. There are plenty of logs included in the stay, so every reason to sit outside and watch the sun go down.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

GREAT WALKING:  Walking straight from the door, located on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, there's lots of choice. As well as the main peaks of the Beacons, closer to home, the Epynt Way has just undergone a huge restoration with miles of walking without needing to get in the car.

PEDAL THE PATHWAYS: There are numerous cycle routes too for both mountain bikes and road cyclists, with bike hire available in Brecon and Hay on Wye, even Vespa hire available in Glasbury! Further into the National Park, the Visitor Centre often has star gazing events, as well as being a great place to plan a walk from.

ACTIVITIES WITH KIDS: There is pony trekking for all ages at adventure centre, Cantref, near Brecon with exceptional riding trails up into the National Park. They have an animal petting and small soft play area too, for small children. The Play Barn is a local soft play centre just outside Brecon, incase of a rainy day with under 8's and Brecon has a small independant cinema too. The National Showcave Centre for Wales in the heart of the Park, complete with dinosaur park and impressive underground caves. Craig-y-Nos Country Park is also a lovely family day out.

FEAST & FAYRE: The Felin Fach Griffin, is a great country pub on the road from Brecon to Hay, recently named "Best Pub in Wales, dogs are welcome in the bar area and it's one of our favourites, well worth a trip! Closer to home, within a mile of the barn, The Shoemakers Arms is the heart of the village community and there is a circular route on the Epynt Way which takes in the pub, if you feel you need to walk further to earn your pint!

TOWNS & CITIES: Sennybridge is the closest town, best for the basics, head to Brecon for a proper Welsh town, complete with Cathedral, Regimental museum, cinema and mountaineering shops. Hay on Wye is a favourite, with heaps of independant stores, very good cafes and a weekly Thursday morning market which is worth the trip for the bread alone!

SLEEPS 2 - 6 (+ 4 ): Three bedrooms in the main barn, sleeping 6, plus a fabulous addition of The Annex, extending the sleeping to ten (at an additional cost of £95 per night). Main barn includes: one super king-size master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, two further double bedrooms with the option of adding two single z-beds suitable for children only.

THE ANNEX: Just a stride away from the main barn is The Annex reassuringly only available to guests staying in the main barn. A completely self contained unit including a double bedroom, heaps of living space, its own kitchen, plus a large double sofa bed. The Annex is charged at an additional £95 per night for up to four additional guests and if used must be booked for the entirety of your stay.

RELAXING: Large open-plan style sitting room with wood burning stove, (logs provided), large TV with Sky, DVD, Wi-Fi, two large leather sofas, plus a large armchair. There is additional soft seating in the annex.

DINING: A large open plan dining room, complete with wood burning stove, there is also a breakfast bar within the kitchen, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee and the views across the fields.

KITCHEN: Impressively well equipped contemporary kitchen with Aga, gas wok burner, steam oven, microwave/grill, American fridge freezer with ice maker, toaster, coffee machine, washing machine, dishwasher. Additional kitchen within the annex.

GYM: There is a well-equipped gym which has a cross trainer, running machine, rowing machine, small punch bag and free weights.

KEEPING CLEAN: Two bathrooms in the main barn, plus additional annex bathroom. En-suite bathroom with wet room style shower, bath tub, double basins and loo. A second bathroom with basin, loo and wet room style shower. 

OUTSIDE: The barn is detached, with plenty of room for parking. There is a private hot tub and seasonal use of the fire pit , outdoor furniture and BBQ on the terrace.

PETS: Up to two dogs are most welcome.

We rented the cottage for a family celebration of a milestone birthday, and loved it. The log fire was appreciated on cold nights and especially for warming up after taking in the spectacular clear skies. Well situated for great walks. Combined a break from the rat race with all the modern amenities. Would definitely recommend.

A superb holiday house that is comfortable and well appointed. Marvellous views and a real treat for bird watchers. The exterior grounds are beautiful and spacious. The premises are enclosed by a wire fence that is very useful for dog owners; the driveway even has gates now which looks like a recent addition. Absolutely stunning property, in a stunning location - If you want somewhere you can chill out & relax this is the place to go! Everything was in immaculate condition, we made full use of all the facilities including the Hot Tub. Definitely worth spending time here with your friends & family! Will definitely be returning.
