A beautifully converted barn surrounded by miles of remote countryside, yet only 1 mile from the quiet village of Cilycwm. Sleeping five plus one dog, it’s an ideal escape for the whole family.
With its original ceiling beams, gorgeous stone windows and stylish mezzanine, this impressive barn conversion is rather like something out of a literary novel. Not only that – it’s in a gorgeous remote setting nestled between 18 acres of woodland on one side and open hillside on the other. The property is 1 mile from the nearest village, Cilycwm, and 5 miles from the Brecon Beacons National Park which you can explore on foot, by bike or in the car during your trip. The property has room for up to five guests over three bedrooms, and you can bring up to two dogs, too.
The open-plan living area is the focal point of the house – ideal for cooking, socialising and relaxing, with a large central dining table. A few steps from here lead down to the welcoming lounge, equipped with velvety sofas. Light up the wood burner if it’s oer (cold) and snuggle down with a DVD after busy days exploring the Welsh hills. Two bedrooms are on the ground floor, a twin and a single, while up the stairs you’ll find a double bedroom and a sweet seating area high up in the impressive vaulted ceiling. Tasteful decoration and well-chosen vintage furniture elevate the feel of this attractive property. A private lawn and picnic area are lovely spots for stretching out in the fresh air.
During your stay, you can look forward to walking, mountain biking and pony trekking all from your front door, as well as bird watching from the garden. You’ll be 4 miles from Llandovery, a market town containing the ruins of a 13th-century castle.
