Cosy barn conversion in an idyllic countryside setting in the heart of Ceredigion.

Choose this stylish former barn as your base for exploring beautiful Mid Wales and the stretch of coastline surrounding Aberystwyth. You’ll be positioned on the cusp of Llanilar, a quintessential village that boasts its own shop, bar and restaurant. Your cosy abode is a sheer treat to return to after a busy day, so you’ll soon find yourself lighting the wood burner and snuggling up to watch films armed with bowls of popcorn. Ideal for couples and small families of up to four guests, the interiors of the property have been tastefully finished with sleek decor and comfortable furniture to match. The open-plan living space is equipped with all the necessities and home comforts you need for relaxing by the wood burner, cooking up a storm in the kitchen and dining at leisure around the table. There’s a handy downstairs shower room dotted with potted plants, and both of the spacious bedrooms are upstairs, complete with sloped ceilings and crisply dressed beds. Outside, the gravel and lawned garden has outdoor furniture for al fresco dining. Aberystwyth (6 miles) is brimming with exciting things to do to suit guests of all ages. Funicular railway trips, strolls along the promenade and a variety of bars, bistros and restaurants await, and you’ll be able to soak up some local history and culture with a visit to Aberystwyth Castle, rounded off by climbing the Iron Age Hill Fort of Pen Dinas to marvel at the views. Ride a steam train on the Vale of Rheidol Railway to Devil’s Bridge for even more impressive scenery, feeling a sense of adventure that thrilled Edwardian passengers all those years ago.

A fabulous cottage in a beautiful rural location. The cottage is absolutely lovely with all the comforts you need for a holiday. The garden at the cottage was also great for our dogs as it was enclosed and safe. Our hosts were so helpful and nice.

Spent a week at Swallow Barn and found it was an ideal spot to use as a central base to tour all of Wales. The cottage was immaculate and well set out with an open plan downstairs. Provisions in the fridge were greatly appreciated upon arrival and the kitchen had everything and more we needed to cater for ourselves. If you are looking to stay in this area then this is a lovely cottage conversion. Despite being on the south side of Aberystwyth the location also gives quick access to the town and areas to the North. Access to the property from the allocated car parking is via a path which slopes up. Although it is well designed within the limits of the site, thoRead morese with bad mobility may struggle with the gradient. Good patio/garden area for spotting the plentiful wildlife in the surrounding trees. Hide

This was a beautiful, well maintained property in a lovely, very rural setting. Very peaceful location and a very comfortable barn conversion but close to amenities. We had a lovely holiday and the sun shone every day. The garden area is a lovely late afternoon/evening sun trap to sit with a glass of wine.

The barn is surrounded by wonderful countryside and although secluded, it is an easy drive to the coast. The barn itself was immaculate upon our arrival and exceeded all our expectations.
