Adventure awaits on a stay at this ancient barn conversion with modern updates, located just outside of the charming market town of Abergavenny. Here you and your family can relax in your holiday home after a day out exploring the mighty peaks of the Black Mountains; the Skirrid, the Sugarloaf and the Blorenge, in search of the finest viewpoints in the Brecon Beacons.

The main hub of this home is the open-plan living space with two comfortable sofas, a footstool and a TV for cosy evenings spent at home. Beneath the light, bright window is a rustic dining table for mealtimes, be it a home-cooked feast or a takeaway from the town. Next door is the pastel-hued kitchen which is fully equipped for your stay. The first of the bedrooms is a thoughtfully decorated double with characterful exposed beams across the vaulted ceiling and a pretty quaint window allowing natural light in whilst the second is a bunk room, perfect for children. Completing the property is a bathroom and you’ll have access to the shared laundry room too. Sunny days can be spent on the shared patio area which features picnic tables and a BBQ or exploring the grounds collecting free-range eggs and meeting the friendly farmyard animals. Ensuring entertainment for all the family, this cottage also shares the use of a seasonal indoor swimming pool, a hot tub and a games room.

Abergavenny is a fantastic location for foodies, with an annual food festival and an array of independent eateries where you can stop off for a bite to eat before heading out on one of the many walking trails. Take the footpath to Crickhowell which stretches just under 9 miles along the calming canal which is speckled with wildflowers between wide open stretches of farmland. If you’re fascinated by stories of times past, there are a number of interesting sites to explore in the Brecon Beacons, with the ruins of Abergavenny Castle and its Museum (1 mile), Blaenavon World Heritage Site (10 miles), Raglan Castle (11 miles) all offering an immersive insight into local history.

A beautiful location and not too far to the local attractions. The swimming pool was the reason we booked this cottage but unfortunately we did not find it warm enough for our 3 year old for more than 5 minutes as he does not swim so could not warm himself up. The pool table has a few dips in it! Other than that the accommodation is what you would Read moreprobably expect from a farmyard location - I would suggest 3 star rating. The host is very friendly and accommodating. Hide

A lovely place to stay with a great farmyard feel (sheep, horses, dogs, goats and hens all nearby). The cottage has a rustic appearance giving it lots of character. It was comfortable and the hostess was very helpful and friendly. The surroundings are gorgeous and the availability of the swimming pool and games room was a very welcome bonus.
