Immerse yourself in gorgeous countryside with a stay in this luxurious barn! This former hay loft has been sympathetically restored to create this home with a heart, exuding character and charm from every corner. Peacefully tucked away in the grounds of a cherry farm, it truly feels as if you’ve been removed from the rest of the world, watch the sun set over the meadows and fall asleep listening to the faint birdsong high up in the hills.

Striking, yet traditional in appearance with its intricate stone work and oak exterior, this fabulous farm retreat will leave you feeling relaxed and switched off from the hustle and bustle of daily life. In the heart of the rolling Herefordshire hills within the fringes of pretty Pencombe, you are perfectly positioned to enjoy the best of both worlds; town and countryside! Grab your wellies and head off down one of the winding paths straight from the farm, jump through puddles and climb over stiles, or head a little further and indulge in a spot of retail therapy. The bustling city of Worcester is sure to satisfy, before retreating to the tranquil Hay-on-Wye or Ludbury to rifle through the boutiques, book shops and bakers or find a little bolt hole to enjoy a bite to eat.

Walking boots aside, it’s time to relax! Landscaped gardens piece together the backdrop as you make your way up to the traditional oak door, the eclectic style of old and new is sure to impress upon entering! Vibrant, patterned upholstery with bright splashes of colour sit against neutral shades of grey and brown creating a bright, welcoming and cosy living space. The plush velvet sofa and comfortable arm chairs make the perfect place to enjoy a movie or coffee, cake and a catch up.

The lounge area blends seamlessly into the bespoke hand crafted kitchen. Complete with a stylish dining table makes it the perfect place for a sit-down farmer’s lunch. This is without a doubt the true hub of the barn, cooking up a meal has never been more fun!

With even the smallest of luxuries not going amiss, at the end of the day climb the wooden stairs where you will be greeted with three bedrooms, each with its own unique style. Draped in beautiful throws, the first king-size bedroom has a delightful en-suite with its own rain water shower, there is a second king-size bedroom with views onto the open countryside and the third is a twin room – a fabulous make up for families. For added indulgence, as the day draws to a close, take a dip in the luxurious bath, light some candles and get stuck into a good book…complete bliss!

A private terrace with garden furniture graces the outside space, a great little spot for alfresco dining, entertaining your guests and soaking up the last of the sunshine.

Wonderful location on a working cherry farm. Could walk to a pub on a footpath in under a mile. Barn was clean, cosy and welcoming. First cottage we have stayed in that provides enough toilet roll for a week!!!! Would highly recommend this area for cyclists.

The cottage & private rear garden were very nice and comfortable. The first three nights were very hot (30 degrees +) and although there were fans available they only re-circulated the hot air. Air conditioning units would have been preferable in the bedrooms. The electric charge point was very useful for topping up my hybrid car. The approach roadRead more from Bromyard via Pencombe was very tricky at times with high hedges, very narrow lanes and many blind bends. We had to reverse or wait patiently on a number of occasions when meeting tractors (cutting the hedges), buses or other large vehicles coming toward us. Our preferred route was from the south off the A417 although it was a longer distance when coming from Bromyard via Stoke Lacy. Hide

Fabulous stay in a beautiful well equipped barn. Location is somewhat remote so be prepared, but the isolation/quiet is part of the appeal.

We had a fantastic stay at Summersun Barn and would highly recommend it. The cottage is beautifully finished and clearly very well thought through, with a great balance of style and practicality. It felt spacious, clean, and very well equipped. Everything we needed was there, which made the stay easy and comfortable from the moment we arrived. TRead morehe beds were exceptionally comfortable, and we all slept really well throughout the stay. The WiFi was also excellent - fast and reliable, which is not always a given in countryside locations and made a real difference. One of the standout features for us was how dog-friendly the property is. The garden is very secure, which meant we could relax knowing the dogs were safe, and the surrounding area is perfect for walks. The setting itself is beautiful - peaceful, with lovely countryside views, and we especially enjoyed listening to the birds and the owl in the evenings. The EV charger on site was a huge benefit and something we actively look for when booking. We really appreciated the consideration from both the neighbouring guests and Rachel when we needed to ensure we could charge ahead of an important appointment; it made a stressful situation much easier. Communication throughout was excellent. Rachel was friendly, responsive, and very helpful, which added to the overall positive experience. The location is also ideal - close to great towns, pubs, cafs, and National Trust places, so there is plenty to do while still enjoying a quiet, rural base. If we were to suggest anything at all, it would only be very minorperhaps a clearer note or informal guidance around sharing the EV charger during busy periods, just to ensure expectations are clear for all guests. That said, this did not detract from our stay. Overall, this was exactly what we were looking for: a relaxing, comfortable, and well-managed place to stay. We would absolutely return. Hide

This is a lovely property, well thought out and plenty big enough for five adults and three Labradors. It was warm, comfortable and very well equipped. The garden is a good size and fully enclosed, unfortunately on a misty, grey weekend in January we didnt get to sit in it. There are good walks straight from the property and the views must be gloriRead moreous when the blossom is out. We had a couple of minor problems initially but owner resolved them within minutes of contact. Highly recommended. Hide
