Gorgeously restored to offer the utmost in true countryside luxury, this rural retreat showcases a wealth of character and charm with exposed beams and stone throughout, waiting to transport you back in time to Wales many moons ago. The barn has had a generous dusting of love, care and attention sprinkled over it, endlessly showcasing special touches, surprises and extra details making your stay magical right up until the moment you leave.

The luxuries don’t stop at the front door, a bubbling private hot tub awaits to soak away your stresses while you soak up the views! After you’ve taken a dip you can sit yourself in the enclosed patio complete with comfortable garden furniture and fluffy robes, snuggle up and dine alfresco under the stars.

The large glass-front doors welcome you into the heart of the barn, the large open-plan lounge, kitchen, dining area – a great spot for entertaining, relaxing or cooking up a fine feast. The dining table seats four people comfortably, and, with the natural light pouring in, provides a lovely space to dine with friends and family. The plush leather sofas alongside create a social environment from which to snuggle up, watch films, smell delicious treats cooking in the well-equipped kitchen and warm your toes by the roaring log fire.

Upstairs you will find two comfortable bedrooms, one boasting a king size bed and the other features twin beds which can be made into a king-size bed if you would prefer, along with an en-suite bathroom. On this floor, you will also find a large bathroom with a luxurious bath – light some candles and enjoy ultimate relaxation.

WALK TO THE PUB: The Crown Inn at Longtown, is the local, with a good reputation, it's within 20 - 30 minutes walking distance of Hatterrall Barn, or just five minutes in the car.

TAKE A HIKE: Surrounded by beautiful countryside you are truly spoilt for choice when it comes to walking in the area. Hike up grassy hills blossoming in flower, stride through narrow country lanes and wander past hay bales stacked high. Walk right from your doorstep and explore the beautiful Black Mountains and join the Offa’s Dyke pathway which will lead you deeper into the countryside.

PEDAL AROUND: Set into the valley, you’ll never be short of fantastic opportunities to cycle and enjoy a spot of sight-seeing at the same time.

FOODIE HAVEN: There are a wealth of good country pubs all within easy reach. The Bridge Inn is just a short distance from the barn and is ready to welcome you with its beautiful river-side setting and enticing menu which regularly features the likes of Persian Lamb, Escleyside Pie and Steak frites… our mouths are watering already! Cwtch Café is the perfect spot to stop by for a slice of cake and a hot cup of cocoa – perfect for warming up after a day strolling the pretty streets.

TOUR THE TOWNS: Placed perfectly to enjoy the relaxed pace of life in the traditional village of Longtown or for heading a little further and exploring the vibrant market town of Abergavenny, with its regular farmers market and food festival, what better opportunity to stock up on yummy local produce to cook up back at the barn.

Crickhowell, nestled within the Usk Valley and Hay-on-Wye are also just a short jaunt away and offer an eclectic range of book shops, an enchanting history to uncover and a fantastic Great Cider Route to embark upon!

HISTORIC WALES: With the great Norman Castle gracing Longtown, you don’t have to spread your wings too far to discover a glimpse of Wales’ fascinating past. There are a number of other heritage sites speckled around the surrounding countryside including Bailey Castle and Longtown Castle – both well worth a visit.

SLEEPS: Comfortably sleeps four with a king-size bedroom and a twin bedroom which can be made into a king on request.

RELAXING: The cottage is very warm and fully central heated. The log burner will keep you extra toasty during those colder winter months – your first basket of logs are included. Bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are also included for your stay.

COOKING: The barn boasts a well-equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer.

BATHING: Upstairs bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC. The twin bedroom also has an ensuite with a shower and WC.

OUTSIDE: The delightful outside space offers an enclosed patio area with garden furniture and a BBQ. There is also ample private off-road parking.

We stayed here for a week and loved it. The local walks are fantastic and the barn is brilliantly equipped. The accommodation is a home from home and the hot tub is a huge bonus. We loved it and will definitely be returning at some point.

This fantastic barn deep in the lovely Herefordshire countryside exceeded our expectations. We stayed for a week with our two little boys 2 & 4, and used it as a base to explore the area.
