Perfect family retreat to relax, enjoy activities and explore the heritage, culture and countryside in Wales and its borders.

This cosy cottage is set within 60 acres of beautiful Welsh countryside and is right on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The property sleeps four guests, making it ideal for a couples’ retreat or small family holiday. The area is a haven for nature lovers, with deep valleys, mysterious forests, and cascading waterfalls, all begging to be explored. The cottage is within walking distance of Crychan Forest (less than 1 mile), where you’ll find a plethora of walking, cycling and horse-riding tracks. Enjoy a day out to the picturesque market town of Brecon (26 miles), to wander around its pretty streets, pop into a cute cafe for a slice of bara brith or wander along the canal.

The property is full of country-cottage charm, with pretty floral fabrics, fabulous, exposed stonework and a roaring wood burner. The spacious lounge/kitchen/diner is a great space for entertaining. Enjoy a hearty meal around the dining table, admiring the gorgeous countryside views, before retreating to the comfy sofas to watch your favourite film on the TV/DVD. Outside, enjoy a sundowner in your private garden which looks out over lush open fields and toast to a wonderful holiday, lechyd da!

There are some truly spectacular picnic spots near the property. Cwm Rhaeadr (10 miles), which means ‘valley of the waterfall’, is a remote woodland in the Tywi Valley and is a magical place to enjoy an al fresco sandwich. Wander through the forest’s canopy, catching glimpses of the dramatic waterfalls through the trees, before setting up camp in one of Wales’ most picturesque picnic spots. Another area famed for its breathtaking scenery and magnificent walking routes is Llyn Brianne Dam and Reservoir (13 miles) in the Doethie Valley. It’s also a great place for stargazing, with uninterrupted vistas in all directions.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

really lovely location, our Springer Spaniel loved it. He is used to a walk first thing in the morning so to open the back door and be able to access a walk in the fields within 10 seconds of leaving was amazing. Location was great and accommodation really good.

Lovely relaxing holiday with good walks near by. We were very lucky with the weather so could spend a lot of time outside. Property is well equipped with everything you might need for a holiday in Wales. A very welcome treat of cake on arrival!
